It's hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner but what better than a Winter Wedding! 2020 has truly been the year for quirky and inventive weddings as people have had to get creative amidst the uncertainty. We have seen back garden ceremonies, drive in weddings and even virtual vows being shared over Zoom. From snowy wedding pictures to festive party favours, we have all the inspiration you need to make your Winter Wedding a fairy-tale come true!
Layer up!
Winter Weddings are all about finding the right accessories to complement your dream dress, whilst also keeping you warm throughout the day. A faux fur shrug, a pashmina or even add a leather jacket for a more quirky feel! Add a touch of sparkle with a sequin bolero and you will be glistening all night! Capes were one of the hottest trends for 2020 so at Elody Bride, we have the perfect range of capes so you never need to brave the cold!
It's All About The Sleeves
Why not opt for a long sleeved dress this winter as opposed to the classic cap sleeve or strapless dress. A long sleeve not only keeps away the winter chill, but looks elegant and timeless. We also have a range of dresses with lace sleeves for those who prefer a more vintage style.
Festive Colour Scheme
Seasonal colour schemes are always stunning at this time of year! Rustic reds, perfect plums and gorgeous greens are some of our favourite festive colour schemes for winter bridesmaid dresses. For the Groomsmen, why not think about different textures such as tweed, tartan or velvet suits which have been increasingly popular this winter and are guaranteed to make some striking wedding pictures.

Winter Warmers
As the current restrictions on the number of guests at your wedding seem here to stay until well into the New Year, we have seen a huge increase in the number of outdoor wedding venues. This is not ideal at this time of year (especially given our famous unpredictable Northern Irish weather) so instead why not have the best of both worlds and rent a marquee. Fitted with heaters and string lights, a marquee becomes the most romantic, Boho-chic venue for you and your guests and allows you to feel comfortable knowing that you can keep to social distancing guidelines.

Festive Favours
A great way to thank your guests for sharing in your special day is with some fun party favours on arrival. Some classic winter ideas are scented candles, Christmas baubles, woolly gloves (if your wedding is outdoors) or some festive treats. Another huge trend we have seen this year has been renting food and drinks vans to cater for your day. Although there may not be a grand reception, you can still warm up your guests after the ceremony with a take-away Hot Toddy or hot chocolate. Little touches can make your day more memorable and special for both you and your guests.

Lights, Camera, Action
At this time of year, the amount of natural daylight dwindles fast and can limit the time for you to take your wedding photos. Twinkling fairy lights can make your venue look even more magical at night and provides a stunning backdrop for wedding pictures. When it comes to fairy lights - we think more is more! Lanterns, string lights and candles all make your venue look even more romantic and intimate. Why not give sparklers as your Guests' party favours and have everyone meet outside for a stunning firework display and photo opportunity of the newlyweds with their nearest and dearest loved ones.
